Drowning Doesn’t Look Like Drowning

In many child drownings, adults are nearby but have no idea the victim is dying. Here’s what to look for.

BE PREPARED. Negligence is NOT the cause of drowning. People do not KNOW that a drowning person CANNOT ~ speak-shout-breath- or -swim, sometimes! Physical functions for the body of drowning people are LIMITED.

Family adventures include trips to pools. Water beckons youth and adults in every state ~ Alaska to Florida in the U.S. and countries near and far. It is OUR DUTY to prepare for drowning.

Read and listen to what experts tell us about the body language of a swimmer when hands are slapping water and a head is bobbing-up for air. In seconds they can drown.

Shout a question and wait for an answer:

“Are you OK?” “Except in rare circumstances, drowning people are physiologically unable to call out for help. The respiratory system was designed for breathing. Speech is the secondary or overlaid function. Breathing must be fulfilled before speech occurs.”

Curious to learn the history of domesticated moose as work animals: my quest was rewarded. Surely ~ where moose live in the wild and do not hunt humans ~ my image of moose herded as cattle for early family work and travel was feasible.

Pictured is a young moose tethered to a harness and trained to pull a carriage.
