LOVING YOU: A LYRICAL POEM
Jiminy Crickets, I can’t remember
How you jiggled the keys to my heart
I sprang when you turned that light on
And now I’m your kiddie cart.
Humpty Dumpty joined the burning crusade
Could make a difference when we’re apart
Must of left the engine running
Lost the keys with a thumping start.
Gimme room for the cranking motor
In overdrive when it comes to talk
Scraping chocolate off my sweet as pie-face
And singing Tweedle Dee in words of art.
Sparkles flying in ever deep blue eyes
Search the love in me like pools of gold
Fear a poor man in my Pennies from Heaven
Lost me digging a tunnel that’s bold.
Feeling crazy and braced for big trouble
My soul can’t help if I’m making a mistake
On my journey can’t even search for cover
I’m neck in neck with the Master of my fate.
I’m loving you good looking
You’re putting pressure on my heart
Giving up sugar in my coffee
And my mind is out to lunch!
